The weight of grief, of bitterness, of anger, and of trauma are heavy. Too heavy to carry for long. And yet, we hold tight to them.  Releasing the burden and  walking away is unthinkable. We’ve grown accustomed to the weight of our pain.

The problem isn’t the glowering clouds; the problem is one of expectations.

A glorious day at the beach. A day at the beach requires an umbrella for shade, a bucket of sunblock, a towel or two for sunbathing after a swim. A day at the beach is all about sun, sand, and swimming, maybe a little sunburn.
